Remember when I shared the news that Barnes & Noble was coming to Dulles Landing? That announcement generated quite a bit of excitement, and now we're getting closer to opening day.
The new Barnes & Noble at Dulles Landing has launched a Facebook page announcing a fall 2026 opening. But there's an even more specific update: Barnes & Noble's official store website now lists December 2026 as the anticipated opening month.
For those of us who love browsing bookstore shelves, discovering a new author or picking up a last-minute gift, that's welcome news.
When Will Barnes & Noble at Dulles Landing Open?
According to Barnes & Noble's official store listing, the new Dulles Landing location is expected to open in December 2026.
An exact grand-opening date has not yet been announced on the store's official page.
The store's October 6 Facebook announcement said “Opening Fall 2026! Stay tuned,” so the December timeline provides a more specific indication of when customers might finally get to visit.
As with any new retail opening, anticipated dates can change. I'll be watching for confirmation of the official opening day.
Where Will the New Barnes & Noble Be Located?

For residents of Aldie, South Riding, Stone Ridge and nearby communities, Dulles Landing is already a familiar shopping destination.
Adding a Barnes & Noble gives the center another reason for shoppers to stop by—particularly during the holiday season.
Will the Dulles Landing Barnes & Noble Have a Café?
Yes! Barnes & Noble's official store listing indicates that the Dulles Landing location will include a café.
That's one detail I'm especially excited about.
A bookstore is one thing. A bookstore where you can browse, find something interesting to read and settle in with a coffee? Even better.
The company hasn't yet published the café's menu or operating hours for this location.
Why This Opening Is Exciting for Aldie and South Riding
One of the things I enjoy about living in Aldie is watching the surrounding communities grow and seeing what new businesses become part of our everyday routines.
And while a bookstore might not seem like major news to everyone, I think this particular addition is worth celebrating.
It's a place to discover books with your children, find a thoughtful gift, browse cookbooks, pick up a new release or simply spend a little time away from a screen.
For families in Aldie and South Riding, having another nearby option for those experiences is a welcome addition.
And with December now listed as the anticipated opening month, there's a chance it could become a new holiday-shopping stop—assuming the opening stays on schedule.
